Gareth Bale out with injury

September 30, 2018

Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale has taken off from the Madrid derby match on Saturday following a groin problem.

The Welsh star was taken off at half time, having played for 45 minutes in the goalless draw against Atletico at the Bernabéu.

According to the Spanish giants coach, Lopetegui, he made it known that the forward will undergo a further assessment to know the extent of his injury.

The coach said they had to take precaution at halftime by withdrawing Bale, after having discomfort in his adductor.

Gareth Bale will be missed much by the Welsh team as he is a key part of the squad who will play Republic of Ireland in the UEFA Nations League.

Real Madrid will play CSKA Moscow on Tuesday in their second game of the 2018/19 UEFA Champions League.

MY THOUGHTS

I just hope Gareth Bale is not out for long, as both Real Madrid and Wales can't afford to have him out.

With the current form of Real Madrid, they really need their stars together to change their negative form.

Also, the superstar scored against Republic of Ireland last time both team met. He's just a crucial player in the squad, and Ryan Giggs will be hoping he's match fit before their game.

Real Madrid to face Atletico in Madrid derby match

September 27, 2018

Real Madrid will take on Atletico Madrid in the first Madrid derby of the 2018/19 La Liga season.

Real Madrid who lost to Sevilla during midweek game will have to tidy things up by putting up a great performance against an impressive Atletico Madrid side.

The Santiago Bernabéu side lost a host of players to injury before and during the midweek game, and will be looking forward to having some of them in their starting line up against their city rivals.

Atletico Madrid will go into this game with great confidence having won their last two games in La Liga, and scoring five times in the process.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid have dropped five points in the league so far this season.

MY THOUGHTS

This is really going to be another tough fixture for Real Madrid, who lost against Sevilla on Wednesday. The team is looking not so sharp, especially with the absence of some key players.

Many fans have started saying Lopetegui is not fit, but that is never the case. He is a new manager, and it will take some time for the players to fully key into his philosophies.

The absence of a figure like Cristiano Ronaldo is also being missed, we shouldn't deceive ourselves. However, Real is still the team to beat despite the form, new manager and absence of Cristiano Ronaldo.

Atletico Madrid will definitely get a tough game tomorrow.

Karius: Sergio Ramos never apologized to me

September 24, 2018

Real Madrid News

Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius who is on loan at Turkish side Besiktas has said he has nothing against Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos after appearing to elbow the goalkeeper.

He however said the Spanish international never apologized to him since the Champions League final in May.

Karius made two errors that cost Liverpool two goals in the match which they eventually lost 3-1 to Real Madrid.

After the incidence, the German goalkeeper never got the confidence of his manager Jorgen Klopp, and has been sent out on a season-long loan to Besiktas to gain more confidence.

The goalkeeper refused to admit if the elbowing was intentional or not, but rather, the shoy-stopper is trying to cope.

He also maintained that the Real Madrid defender has not apologized to him since then.

The 25-year-old goalkeeper has made three appearances for Besiktas since his summer loan move to the Turkish side, conceding once in the three matches.

WRITER'S OPINION

Loris Karius should just move on after the incident.

The elbowing has been debated by many pundits after the incident. While many believe it wasn't intentional, many also have the view it was intentional.

It was a hot final match, and all the players were so emotional during the match - it's Champions League final after all. Ramos, couldn't have done that intentionally.

Lopetegui: Real Madrid players were tired

September 22, 2018

Real Madrid News

Real Madrid boss, Julen Lopetegui has admitted that his players were tired following his side's 1-0 victory over Espanyol on Saturday.

Spain international Marco Asensio scored the only goal of the game few minutes before the break to give the Bernabéu side a victory that sent them top of the league.

According to the manager, Real Madrid's performance on Saturday against Espanyol was not up to their level as he cited tiredness as the cause of this following their mid-week's Champions League win over Roma.

"They are three important points from a complex and difficult match," Lopetegui said, as reported by Marca.

"We lacked energy in the second half and lost control. There was fatigue because we played two demanding games in three days.

"Espanyol played well and were well organized, and we knew it would be difficult.

"We made the Asensio goal profitable."

Real lost several chances to increase their lead. Espanyol showed a great spirit to worsen matter for Los Blancos.

Writer's Opinion

It was a fight to finish for both sides, although Real Madrid had a lot of chances to kill the game, but none were close to do the job.

It was another impressive performance by Marco Asensio who has been in the limelight this season. He showed he could be star against a team he has previously played for.

I won't but mention the congested fixtures, but that can't be helped, maybe it's time Lopetegui start giving rotation of squad a serious thought. Real Madrid has the squad to carry out the duty.

Thibaut Courtois sad with treatment by Chelsea fans

September 09, 2018

Real Madrid News

Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois is reported to be unhappy with the way he's being treated by Chelsea fans following his transfer to Real Madrid this summer.

The World Cup golden glove winner said his move to Real Madrid has been on the line since March.

He faced backlash from Chelsea fans when he failed to return for training earlier this season in what can be likened to an attempt to force a move away from the English side.

"It makes me feel sad. Obviously they don't know all the truth," he told reporters following Belgium's win over Scotland.

"I think in March the decision was already made and I thought the club would accept it.

"Then because the transfer was close I didn't show up for training because I thought it was better not to disturb the squad. I didn't want it to be toxic.

"Obviously it's a pity because I love Chelsea. I loved playing there."

MY OPINION

Thibaut Courtois before his move to Real Madrid was regarded so much by Chelsea fans - this you could tell with vigorous jubilation when he won the 2018 World Cup Goalkeeper of the Tournament.

His transfer to Real Madrid was seen by many as a betrayal of their trust for them, especially when he's left with just a year on his contract.

Many felt his transfer should have commanded a huge fee, and because he has stalled on signing a new contract, of which they blamed him for.

What infuriates many was the fact that they felt he was also trying to force move away for their idol Eden Hazard.

Thibaut Courtois should just get over it and move on, every great players move on at a particular point in their career.

Manchester City are not prepared to let go of Brahim Diaz, as it is reported that they will do all they can to prevent the Spain international from moving away from the club.

Manchester City are not prepared to let go of Brahim Diaz, as it is reported that they will do all they can to prevent the Spain international from moving away from the club.

Diaz meanwhile is in the final year of his contract and refuses to sign a new contract largely due to lack of playing time for the Manchester City senior squad.

According to James Robson of the UK Evening Standard, several top European clubs are monitoring the contract situation of the 19-year-old, with Los Blancos topping them all.

The youngster might find playing time a little bit difficult in Manchester City, considering the high numbers of superstars and rising stars in the club set up.

The Spanish youngster made his senior debut for Manchester City lady season, coming off the bench to play a total of 50 minutes for the English champions. While he hasn't played a minute of football for Manchester City senior team, he however featured well during their pre-season games.

My Opinion

There's is no doubt about the quality of this youngster. However, with crops of youngsters with similar or superior qualities in Manchester City youth set up, he might find it difficult to break into the first team.

Real Madrid as well boast of youths of great qualities, no doubt. Diaz joining up will be more or less the same thing with Manchester City. Breaking into Real Madrid first team is one of the most difficult thing for any youngster.

The difference however will be the philosophy of the managers. Lopetegui is one man who believes in youngsters and the talents he has at hand.

Who knows, he might have more first team game time with Real Madrid than with Manchester City.
