Gareth Bale out with injury

September 30, 2018

Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale has taken off from the Madrid derby match on Saturday following a groin problem.

The Welsh star was taken off at half time, having played for 45 minutes in the goalless draw against Atletico at the Bernabéu.

According to the Spanish giants coach, Lopetegui, he made it known that the forward will undergo a further assessment to know the extent of his injury.

The coach said they had to take precaution at halftime by withdrawing Bale, after having discomfort in his adductor.

Gareth Bale will be missed much by the Welsh team as he is a key part of the squad who will play Republic of Ireland in the UEFA Nations League.

Real Madrid will play CSKA Moscow on Tuesday in their second game of the 2018/19 UEFA Champions League.

MY THOUGHTS

I just hope Gareth Bale is not out for long, as both Real Madrid and Wales can't afford to have him out.

With the current form of Real Madrid, they really need their stars together to change their negative form.

Also, the superstar scored against Republic of Ireland last time both team met. He's just a crucial player in the squad, and Ryan Giggs will be hoping he's match fit before their game.

Real Madrid to face Atletico in Madrid derby match

September 27, 2018

Real Madrid will take on Atletico Madrid in the first Madrid derby of the 2018/19 La Liga season.

Real Madrid who lost to Sevilla during midweek game will have to tidy things up by putting up a great performance against an impressive Atletico Madrid side.

The Santiago Bernabéu side lost a host of players to injury before and during the midweek game, and will be looking forward to having some of them in their starting line up against their city rivals.

Atletico Madrid will go into this game with great confidence having won their last two games in La Liga, and scoring five times in the process.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid have dropped five points in the league so far this season.

MY THOUGHTS

This is really going to be another tough fixture for Real Madrid, who lost against Sevilla on Wednesday. The team is looking not so sharp, especially with the absence of some key players.

Many fans have started saying Lopetegui is not fit, but that is never the case. He is a new manager, and it will take some time for the players to fully key into his philosophies.

The absence of a figure like Cristiano Ronaldo is also being missed, we shouldn't deceive ourselves. However, Real is still the team to beat despite the form, new manager and absence of Cristiano Ronaldo.

Atletico Madrid will definitely get a tough game tomorrow.

Lopetegui: Real Madrid players were tired

September 22, 2018

Real Madrid News

Real Madrid boss, Julen Lopetegui has admitted that his players were tired following his side's 1-0 victory over Espanyol on Saturday.

Spain international Marco Asensio scored the only goal of the game few minutes before the break to give the Bernabéu side a victory that sent them top of the league.

According to the manager, Real Madrid's performance on Saturday against Espanyol was not up to their level as he cited tiredness as the cause of this following their mid-week's Champions League win over Roma.

"They are three important points from a complex and difficult match," Lopetegui said, as reported by Marca.

"We lacked energy in the second half and lost control. There was fatigue because we played two demanding games in three days.

"Espanyol played well and were well organized, and we knew it would be difficult.

"We made the Asensio goal profitable."

Real lost several chances to increase their lead. Espanyol showed a great spirit to worsen matter for Los Blancos.

Writer's Opinion

It was a fight to finish for both sides, although Real Madrid had a lot of chances to kill the game, but none were close to do the job.

It was another impressive performance by Marco Asensio who has been in the limelight this season. He showed he could be star against a team he has previously played for.

I won't but mention the congested fixtures, but that can't be helped, maybe it's time Lopetegui start giving rotation of squad a serious thought. Real Madrid has the squad to carry out the duty.
